Marriage's Layers Pellets with Flubenvet Wormer is a convenient and easy way to worm your chickens with Flubenvet, ensuring that all chickens receive the right dosage. Please bear in mind that we can only supply the minimum quantity required to treat your chickens for one single treatment of 7 days. This product is POM-VPS - this means that it can only be prescribed and supplied by an SQP (Suitably Qualified Person) and we require certain information from you to ensure that the product is suitable. You will be asked to supply this information during the online checkout process.
The product is only licensed for feeding to chickens and geese. If you order this product and list other species for treatment, e.g. ducks, quail, please note that your order will be automatically refunded as Flubenvet is not licensed for these species.
Please note that the medicated pellets are manufactured wtih a very short shelf life to guarantee the effectiveness of the medication, and as such you should purchase only enough for a single treatment of 7 days. If you order more than this we may contact you to discuss your order, and if we are unable to reach you within a few days we will instead refund your order and wait to hear back from you.
We order small quantities on a very regular basis to keep the expiry date as long as possible, this often means that you may have to wait up to a week for your order to be dispatched if we are waiting for fresh stock. Please telephone if you require this product urgently to enquire about immediate availability.
The product should be fed for seven days as you would feed a plain layers pellet. Each bird will eat a quantity of food that contains the right amount of medication for its bodyweight. We estimate that 10kg of feed contains enough medication to treat around 10 chickens (20kg for 20 chickens etc). Only the medicated food should be given for seven days and then replaced with the food the birds are usually given.
There is no withdrawal period for eggs during the use of Flubenvet - this means that you can eat the eggs as normal while you are worming your hens. If you wish to eat of the birds, you must leave it a full seven days after the last treatment. Please note that we are only able to supply this product for domestic use - ie if you are keeping poultry purely for your own egg production, or for show purposes. We cannot supply this product for commercial use.
Frequency of worming
For backyard chickens it is usually adequate to treat every four to six months, for the seven-day dosing period. Flocks where there is a high infection pressure, due to heavy stocking or an existing worm infection, may need to be treated more frequently. Regular faecal egg counts will help determine the need for worming. Please seek further advice from your veterinary surgeon or animal health adviser.
It is almost impossible to completely prevent parasitic worms infecting a flock. Good practices include:
- Feeding from feeders rather than on the ground
- Moving birds to clean grass regularly
- Avoiding muddy areas or putting down shingle to allow droppings to dry out
- Keeping grass short, as exposure to sunlight will destroy worm eggs
Remember that it is not always possible to identify signs of infection with the naked eye and regular worming is the best way to prevent birds suffering the effects of large worm burdens.

Birds should not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment or for a period of seven days after the end of the treatment period. Do not feed food that exceeds its 'use by' date.
