Showering Parrots

Positioned correctly, shower perches provide the perfect opportunity for parrots to mimic their natural behaviour, moving in and out of the water as they please, and turning a full 360 degrees to shower all parts of their head, wings and body.

Shower perches stay in place with suckers that attach to the tiles, and models like the Zoo-Max range fold back to the shower wall to save space when not in use.

Some species of parrots are keener on water than others – think about their wild environment and it becomes clear that rainforest dwelling species such as Amazons and Macaws will relish frequent opportunities for showering.

Other species of parrots may prefer only a light spray from a bottle – either plain water can be used, or special sprays which contain feather conditioners.
